The start of the relationship between Spotswood and the Akemi English Language School (AES) from Hiroshima, Japan.
After 25 years service at Spotswood History teacher Mr. Charles Gill moved to Sacred Heart College.
20-21 April:-Our Te Kura Club hosts a 35th Reunion for the College.
Senior and junior Debating groups were active in several inter-school debates.
Major production:- "Nothing Will Come of Nothing".
Te Ropu Kapa Haka O Ngamotu group:- Lionel Skipper becomes the new tutor. The group number increases from 20 to 30-40.
Music:- Symphonic band of 30 performed at the National Concert Band Festival in Palmerston North. The Jazz band "Hatrix" had a good year and participated at the Rotorua Jazz Festival. The String orchestra, 3rd form band and 4th form band all had enjoyable years. A small Choir participated in several local events.
The I.S.C.F enjoyed their christian fellowship sessions.
20 7th formers took part in the annual OPC trip to Turangi.
18-21 August, the 6th form Legal Studies class visited Wellington while the following week the 7th form History class experienced their trip to Auckland.
Four Textiles students gained awards at the NZSS Young Designers Awards held in Christchurch.
The First XV Rugby squad did an 8-day four game trip to the South Island in August.
